Mega Millions Biggest Win In History

A Georgia truck driver stepped forward yesterday (Wednesday) to claim half of a $390 million jackpot, the richest lottery prize in U.S. history, reports CNN in this article.

"I'm still numb," said Ed Nabors of Rocky Face, Georgia, about 90 miles north of Atlanta. He elected to take home his winnings in a lump sum instead of annual installments, and will get $116.5 million before taxes.

Brave man. Personally, I would stay anonymous for as long as I could.

Previously the largest lottery jackpot in the USA was $365 million in 2006, when eight workers at a Nebraska meatpacking plant hit the Powerball lotto.

Mega Millions is played in the USA - in California, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Texas, Virginia and Washington state.

The next draw is worth $105 Million and will be drawn 6 April 2007.
