This morning I walked down to my local Lotto outlet and back. It's a 20 minute stroll both ways.
In addition to seeing what's new in the neighborhood and getting some fresh air, I figured I must've lost about .002kg in sweat equity.
Wow, this must be the new lotto weight loss system! :-)

My wife gets annoyed at me talking about money constantly.
A couple of months ago she blew her top at me. "All you seem to talk about is money, money, money!" she exclaimed in a rare moment of annoyance.
I retired quickly to think about what she had said. Sometimes other people have a better idea of you than you.
She was right, of course. I live and breathe its acquisition, and inevitably that comes out in my speech and actions.
A while back I had read an insight into some idiosyncrasies of the rich, and one of their traits was to constantly talk and think about money. It was an important part of their daily structure.
So I wasn't alone. But was it a good thing?
Obviously for the sake of our 35 years of marriage, I need to tone down a bit if it annoyed her so much.
And that brought me to our attitudes about money. She doesn't care for it much. Her world consists of giving unselfishly to others through volunteer work. My job is to support her as best I can - which I do happily.
We are both very different. But it's a neat circle of convenience... customer and supplier!
Money means different things at different times to different people. For some it might mean security, for others a power show. Some might use debt to punish themselves. Others use debt to grow... for example, they see a heavy mortgage as an enforced savings plan. Others might see the mortgage as an onerous commitment.
My own view is that money becomes its own security for me. I am happiest when I have a lot in the bank. When Silver Lotto System sales are good, I'm happy. When sales drop, it affects my whole being.
While my cash flow rises and falls quite considerably, I'm not short of money opportunities. My Lexus dealer offered me $45,000 in lease arrangements a while back. I have several hundred thousand dollars available as a loan against the mortgage if I want it.
But that is all different from having cash on hand... even though cash in the bank is not a sensible financial position. More about that in this post.
So how will you react when you win a substantial sum on lotto?
What kind of money attitude do you have? It's wise to work it out now - before you become one of the statistics... the 50% or more who have nothing left two years after their win.

Variety is the spice of life.
That's why sometimes I walk down our stairs backwards. Our house has 28 steps spread over four different levels... it makes for an interesting trip.
Here's a picture of the top level. I hang on to the rail as I go - no use taking unnecessary risks! To enhance the sensation, I sometimes I close my eyes as well.
That's not all... sometimes I swap my knife and fork to different hands while eating dinner. Occasionally I've tried writing using my left hand.
I have a choice of four cars to visit the lotto shops or go traveling - 2 sports convertibles and 2 SUV's - and I mix them up a bit. And I always take a different route wherever I go.
All this activity is designed to keep my brain sharp by challenging it.
If you do something different every day instead of wearing out the same old rut, this constant re-adaption keeps your senses alert, and your facilities - like reflexes and thinking abilities - constantly growing.
Some folk do a daily crossword puzzle. Others create with knitting or painting. All good.
You can do this in lotto too... just change your game every once in a while. You'll be surprised what a difference it makes when you have to figure out new numbers for your tickets and go to a different newspaper or TV to see your results.
While this advice won't make you an automatic lotto winner, it will help you adapt and grow as your life flows along. This makes change easier, and keeps you mentally stimulated. You become more open to new ideas, which is very good thing.
But don't change the numbers in your Silver Lotto System - until you've won. That's the only thing in your lotto life that should stay constant!

Let me tell you a little story:
I was waiting in my local lotto shop a while back, standing in line. I don’t normally wait in a queue anywhere, but of course a lotto line is different! This store was a kiosk in a large grocery supermarket chain - the one in the post below - and I go there every day or two just to get out of my home office--meet new people, you know.
Ahead of me in the line, a few people away, there was a women looking expectantly as her tickets were being checked through the machine. Housewife type, not well dressed, but a nice person - you could tell.
Suddenly the till gave that little chiming noise I knew so well (it's called "I'm In The Money").
I identified it straight away because it usually makes that noise for me each week.
Tip: get your tickets checked out by machine instead of doing them yourself. It's far more accurate and takes less time. I have dozens of tickets in play at any time, so it would be insane for me not to!
There was a time, about a couple of decades ago, when I didn't have two pennies to rub together.
That's right... I was as poor as a church mouse after the forced closure of my businesses.
I had sold everything I had in order to keep some bread on the table, but I had finally reached one of the lowest points in my life. My bank had closed my account because I mistakenly tried to draw a cheque before the funds had been cleared in another branch. (You make more mistakes when you're disadvantaged). I was reduced to filling my car with $10 worth of gas each time, and even switching off the engine on long downward hills. Only the leniency of my landlord had stopped us being thrown out of our rented house.
You won't believe how desperate and down I was. Even now I find it hard to talk about. So whatever you're going through at the moment, I've been there before you.
But every cloud has a silver lining.
I finally found someone to hire me (the self-employed are notoriously unemployable!). And gradually the debts came down. I became more cautious in my spending, but I was always living on the edge. The same $10 fill of my gas tank was still expensive, and I was reduced to riding a motorcycle to work to keep my costs down.
There was no dramatic turnaround, but after a while some things improved for us.
I didn't suddenly leap from living under a bridge to living in a mansion. The change came slowly, but gradually.
The real change in my attitude came over 17 years ago when I was walking the beach near where we lived. I suddenly realized that I was on my own. No-one else could help me... I was completely dependent on my own abilities.
From that moment on I was determined to fight back. My Silver Lotto System and other manuals I wrote on marketing became best-sellers and provided the basis for a number of other ventures that were successful. And everything grew from there.
Now I am living proof of how the other half lives. From poor to well-off. From a motorcycle to five luxury cars. From a rented home to a million-dollar harbor view mansion.
And I'm grateful that I still have the 30-year support from my same wife.
That weekly $10 gas bill that used to cripple me financially in the old days is 10 times higher each week. But I don't even notice it. That amount was a large proportion of my income when I was poor, but has disappeared almost completely today by comparison to my present income.
My telephone bill is 15 times higher today than it was back in the bad old days. But I pay it immediately it arrives and don't miss the amount. This is the power of a giant income.
