Lotto Win Question: What Would You Do In Brad's Shoes?
A couple years back 34 year-old Brad Duke won $220 Million on Powerball.
And it wasn't enough.
He knew he didn't want to end up like many other winners who lost their entire fortune by squandering it.
Most winners take a couple of years to lose it all.
But not Brad. Nosirree... he actually wanted to increase it - to become a billionaire!
That meant multiplying his money 5 times.
Said Brad, "I wanted to make the most of the opportunity that was given to me, so I put together a team with the intent to reach and maintain a $1 billion status... (and) I wanted to do it in 10 years."
That's fast.
And it's quite a different goal from most winners who try to figure out how fast to spend it.
The secret is delayed gratification - which, according to Wikipedia is: "...the ability to wait in order to obtain something that one wants. This ability is usually considered to be a personality trait which is important for life success."
Brad is able to think of the future more than the present.
But he didn't pass up the chance to take 17 of his friends on a trip to Tahiti.
Or pay off his mortgage.
But he didn't do what we all would have done - spend a lot to make our lives easier.
What would YOU have done?
Is $220 Million enough? Or not enough?
