Forget The Supermarket Test
What supermarket do you go to?
Is it the one round the corner for convenience? Or the one with the friendly staff who know you? Or the one with lowest prices?
Thing is, there are supermarkets to suit everyone, depending on what you want.
But it takes a while to figure which one is best for you.
Years back - because I do the shopping in our two-person household - I faced the same dilemma in finding a supermarket I liked.
It took me several months of visiting one, then the other, then another, before I found the right combination of low prices, convenience and friendliness.
And now I've been going to the same one now for years.
The benefits are now the checkout people know not to fold my newspapers up (the less creases the better), and they know I have a Platinum credit card which has to be inserted in the bottom of the card reader instead of getting swiped.
And we chat about their kids and the weather.
Little things that make a big difference. It's a fun time usually.
