Follow Warren Buffet...

Start thinking today about which charity you will give some of your winnings to.

Yes, I'm serious. Donating some of your winnings to a worthy cause - like the world's richest man, billionaire Warren Buffet - is an essential part of your life growth.

This is why...

Most people, when they come into a windfall, tend to follow the same path. They buy a new house, new cars and a boat, maybe help out their friends and family, and intend to goof off for the rest of their life.

The reality is that after a short while--anything from six months to two years, they get bored.

Some return to their old jobs. Some make a hobby a full-time occupation.

But for most winners, a large amount of money produces problems. But not many want to part with it, as in this example where a company director in our city gained $47 million from the sale of an online auction started by his son. Since he had no use for the sum (he was already well off from the investments he had made in it), he has decided to give it all away to qualifying charities.

This caused a lot of publicity. But his decision was quite sensible. Coping with a windfall is often quite stressful, and has results that follow you for the rest of your life.

Giving to a charity - or helping people in need - satisfies most people in a spiritual way and also solves that problem. This also offsets the problems of having a large amount of unearned cash, and makes life very much easier... or maybe reduces the guilt.

Regardless, most people gain tremendously by giving away a percentage to charity, whether they are lotto winners or not. It's worth thinking about, isn't it?
