I'm a bit sad today.

Famed British film director and restaurant critic Michael Winner passed away yesterday. 

I often read the columns he wrote for a Sunday newspaper because he had a cheeky wit I enjoyed.

In one of these articles he ordered us to spend, and spend heavily. 

He said, maybe tongue in cheek, that it helped everyone - from businesses to the economy.

Of course, it helped the spender more, but that was his point.

He made these amusing points about why we should spend more, and it's a wakeup call for lottery players:
