Why You Should Give Your Lottery Tickets The Red Carpet Treatment

[blogphotosig.JPG]

Look, in each lottery game you play, there is only a slim slip of paper between you and a massive fortune.

Figure it out... if you don't treat this flimsy document right, your life of ease and riches will be lost forever the blink of an eye.

It's truly money in the bank, so treat it right.

A UK Mirror newspaper survey reported the nation's favorite places to keep a winning ticket safe:

- 53% put it in their wallet or purse,
- 7% place it under the mattress, in a pocket or in a drawer or cupboard,
- 4% hide it inside a photo frame, in their underwear or in a safe.

I've even heard of a winner taping the ticket to his chest.

Here's a list of 5 other ways you should protect yourself and your ticket from certain disaster:

#1. What would happen if you lost your winning ticket - even though you put it in a dictionary under "W" for winner... or was it "M" for milllionaire? Yes - you wouldn't be popular if you forgot the right word. So photocopy your ticket and keep it in a safe place that you will remember! Do this for both your Silver Lotto System tickets too, so you can quickly fill them out again if you lose them.

#2. Write your name on every ticket. Include the words "ticker owner" or your driver's license number if you wish, but generally you'll be able to prove your name with your ID or driver's license.

#3. Have your lotto shop check the ticket numbers after each game - don't rely on your own eyes. Having the store check them means that you won't miss a number.

#4. If you give lotto tickets as a gift, make sure the recipient can claim them. If the game requires players over the age of 18, it will be a few long years before your 12 year-old niece or nephew gets to spend their $50 million from the ticket you gave them for their birthday. Always check the rules from your game's website.

#5. Do you play in a syndicate? At the very least you should have a document signed by everyone who takes part, with a brief description of the games you are playing, the amount you put in and what share you will get on winning. It keeps everyone honest.

Now stop worrying - and get out there and win!
