I've just been looking at photos of Simon Cowell splashing around on his snazzy Yamaha jetski today.
In Barbados, right now.
I looked up the temperature in this exotic Caribbean location and discovered it was going to reach 30 degrees C today.
That's a bit of a change from the snow in Britain and much of the USA and Canada right now, where the very cold snap is proving that 'global warming' is not quite the right expression these days.
If you don't know Simon, he's the guy who started American Idol, The X Factor and more. And he is notorious as a blunt and critical judge on those programs.
Enough about him... let's talk about the weather again.
What would it take to get you to Barbados, to stretch out in the warmth underneath a palm on a sunny beach, sipping a Margarita with a little umbrella sticking out of it? Or orange juice if you're a non-drinker like me.
The distance between where you are now - and Barbados - is a simple piece of paper... a lottery ticket.
Sometimes I'm asked what do I do for a living by curious strangers.
"I'm a writer," I often say.
"Oh?" invariably comes the response. "What do you write?"
"Ransom notes." It gets a laugh.
But the power of a single piece of paper can't be underestimated.
Your winning lottery ticket is your key to escaping winter... to making your life vastly more pleasant on a scale you couldn't imagine right now.
Singer Barbara Streisand was asked what motivated her to fame and fortune in the entertainment industry. She said she had one ambition back then, and it was not having to make her own bed - a task she clearly hated.
Guess if she makes her own bed now!
You don't have to take years to be a singer or tv producer in order to change your lifestyle.
That single slip of paper can do it for you.
But you need to get serious. Just like building a career or taking a job, you need to discover whether you really want to take annual vacations in the sun, or have your housekeeping done for you.
Then wind all that passion and energy into your lottery game, play, and play consistently.
You've only got a few hours to grab my system, fill out your tickets and rush down to the lotto shop for Saturday's game. The payoff can be huge.
