I think everyone should have their own business. If your enterprise sustains you... that is - gives you all the personal satisfaction and money you ever need - then that's got be the best reward in life.
Because if you do it right, you get the biggest byproduct of all - true personal freedom. It's blissful when you achieve this. Lotto will do the same with less effort.
But there's one fly in the ointment however...
While some hobby businesses may satisfy you, not many real businesses make money.
It's true. Here's an insight:
My wife and I had a friend over for tea last night - a fellow lotto winner using my Silver Lotto System too, by the way - and as we were munching a delicious gourmet pizza, he made a statement that had me nodding my head vigorously.
He said the words that I had known for years... that the 10% of businesses which are successful, are only profitable because they have long term contracts with large corporations.
This gives them the continuity of profit (if they're frugal) to pay staff, overheads like rent and utilities, pay their suppliers and various hangers-on like public relations people and so on.
Now, I've been through the mill - having had both successful business and not so, and I agree with him 100%.
So how do you uncover such a successful business opportunity that doesn't rely on these hard-to-get contracts?
I'll reveal how now, but prepare to be surprised. Because the 'right' business is not always the best one.
What's the difference? Here's an example:
For decades I've known about the vast profits from real estate. Each year - usually round about the same season (isn't life's timetable predictable!) - I get the urge to invest. Yet something stops me. It's not the fear of commitment, I have no problem with that. Nor the fear of large sums of borrowings... in an earlier post here I talk about how I overcame that years ago.
It's passion. The lack of.
Now, many people will tell you that passion doesn't make a business successful... that anyone can apply a proven formula in much the same way that franchises do today, and succeed anyhow.
I'm not sure that that's entirely true.
Because when the going gets tough... and inevitably it will... you will need large dobs of passion and interest to move you out of the tough times.
Years ago I remember reading about one of our country's largest property moguls, where in the interview he pointed to one of his waterfront office buildings and said: "Look at that, isn't it a wonderful looking building? This is what property is all about." He was passionate about a plain-looking lump of concrete and steel, and it showed. He is also very successful, because he sold the building for $26 million, then bought it back this year, a decade later, for $12 million (figures from memory). It's now valued at the higher rate. That's it in the photo above, taken when I popped out late this afternoon for a drive.
I won't get rich in property. After 10 minutes of looking through the newspaper property pages I get very depressed. Then thinking about all the legal paperwork makes me even more depressed. There's no way that I will get into property in a big way.
But sit me down in front of the computer and ask me to write creatively about my Silver Lotto System, marketing and success, and my pen flows over the page for hours without stop. Each morning I wake up full of expectation and I can't wait to get down to my computers to start the day.
My passion means that a low sales day fires me up. Instead of getting depressed, I look at the low figures as a challenge and do something to change that.
So your first requirement for any business is not to find one that makes you a huge amount of money, but to find one that excites you.
In my next post I'm going to tell you what I think the secret to the hugely successful business is. And the good thing is this - the most successful business won't cost you a cent to set up. The entry fee is so low that you'll never fail! And you have everything you need right in front of you, right now.

Soon after we moved into our new house I bought a new Smeg microwave to match the existing oven.
When the unit was put into the space above the oven, there were gaps around it.
No problem... there was a special stainless steel matching factory kit.
Shocknote: - It cost about half the price of the microwave.
That's right - a whopping 50% again of this expensive Italian microwave. After I recovered from the sticker shock and found there was no alternative, I bought it.
The kitchenware shop said fitting it was an easy task. "You could do it in a few minutes flat," they said. A small chill came over me when I heard those words. In my experience nothing is ever as simple as that. But I took the unit under my arm and set off home.
Armed with all the tools I thought I would need... screwdrivers, saw, electric drill, measuring tape... I set out on this easy do-it-yourself project after dinner, around 7pm.
I'll spare you the story about how I spent the next six hours. Needless to say, it was a monumental task. I had a lot of problems with the fitting. I shudder to think how much it would have cost to get an experienced tradesman to do it.
At nearly 1.15 in the morning I packed my tools together and surveyed my work through bleary eyes. Pretty as a picture. There it is finished in the photo above.
It was perfect. I was exhausted.
So I made a pact...
From that time on, I resolved always to let the experts do the work. And I also extended that principle through into my Silver lotto System.
For people who have problems with, or can't be bothered, with numbers... and there are a lot... I brought out a package with everything complete. I've finished the whole system for you, called it a Custom Profile, and you can use it for many games around the world including Powerball.
All you do is transfer the completed numbers directly to your lotto tickets. Couldn't be easier. Done by an expert (me) to save you time and trouble.
And all because of a microwave!

After telling you that I've enjoyed life in this post, I thought it was only fair to tell some of the things I've done.
Sure, some of it is old hat to many adventurers - but I'm not one of those. Just an ordinary guy enjoying life.
So here's a shortlist of some of my more interesting experiences. It may give you ideas for your own lotto freedom time:
Started early this morning. It's 5:30 a.m. and I've got a bunch of things to do. But life is pretty easy, really. Because most of it is structured.
So I thought I'd let you into my organizational secret... how I manage my daily to-do list, and how it will help you work your own way through this giant hubbub of information we call the internet.
Now, let's say you wanted to read this lotto blog each day. But sometimes you forget. Maybe you haven't signed up to get an email reminder from that box on the top right-hand side. Or maybe your ISP blocks my emails to you.
Add to the fact that the name is not that easy to type in: - http://honest-lotto.blogspot.com/
So you should do what I do. Bookmark it.
But Ken, you say - I do that anyway.
Aha. Yes. But you can refine bookmarking this way so your whole life becomes easier.

This is my Panasonic Digital super hybrid PBX telephone system.
Our house has eight similar phone extensions - in the main rooms and garage - controlled by a central master switchboard in a hall cupboard at the middle of the house.
This particular system was chosen because we could transfer calls between rooms and answer the front door speakerphone from anywhere. We can also intercom through the phones in each room. There are more features than we'll ever need.
Here's another advantage. My wife and I use the phone a lot, but she gets more calls than me. It was very frustrating to keep answering her calls and either taking a message (I'm not a very good secretary!) or searching through the house to find her.
The solution was remarkably easy... we each have our own phone line.
For example, since we each give out our own dedicated line phone numbers, this immediately stops any message taking by the other partner. If we are not in, then the message goes to our separate voicemail boxes. I don't answer her calls, nor she mine. Easy.
But there are other benefits as well. We have an extension in all our main rooms: the guest bedroom, kitchen, my wife's office, the main bedroom, my office, the garage and a doorphone (below) which can be answered by any extension.
So whenever we get a call that needs to be answered by the other partner, we can transfer it through to almost any room. We can also have our calls transferred to our cell phones.
In short, the system acts like the switchboard system of any small office. I couldn't do without it.

I thought over the next few days you might be interested in seeing what's on my home office desk. There are not many items because I like to keep it fairly clear, but there's half a dozen that might interest technology buffs.
In this photo you can see my Beamer videophone. (The small item beside it is a temperature guage).
I bought The Beamer about five years ago from the United States, soon after they were introduced. It has a built-in camera and 4" screen, and just plugs into your phone line. But I only used it for a couple of months and then stored it away because it really wasn't that effective. Certainly you could see the person at the other end in jerky black-and-white. And yes, it did work over a standard phone line, but it never was as convenient as a webcam and Skype.
So I keep it on the corner of my desk to remind me that while technology advances us as a civilization, some of it is inherently flawed!

Variety is the spice of life.
That's why sometimes I walk down our stairs backwards. Our house has 28 steps spread over four different levels... it makes for an interesting trip.
Here's a picture of the top level. I hang on to the rail as I go - no use taking unnecessary risks! To enhance the sensation, I sometimes I close my eyes as well.
That's not all... sometimes I swap my knife and fork to different hands while eating dinner. Occasionally I've tried writing using my left hand.
I have a choice of four cars to visit the lotto shops or go traveling - 2 sports convertibles and 2 SUV's - and I mix them up a bit. And I always take a different route wherever I go.
All this activity is designed to keep my brain sharp by challenging it.
If you do something different every day instead of wearing out the same old rut, this constant re-adaption keeps your senses alert, and your facilities - like reflexes and thinking abilities - constantly growing.
Some folk do a daily crossword puzzle. Others create with knitting or painting. All good.
You can do this in lotto too... just change your game every once in a while. You'll be surprised what a difference it makes when you have to figure out new numbers for your tickets and go to a different newspaper or TV to see your results.
While this advice won't make you an automatic lotto winner, it will help you adapt and grow as your life flows along. This makes change easier, and keeps you mentally stimulated. You become more open to new ideas, which is very good thing.
But don't change the numbers in your Silver Lotto System - until you've won. That's the only thing in your lotto life that should stay constant!

In the last post I talked about how keeping $500 in your wallet, in order to feel rich, is not a good idea.
Simply this... every time you look at your watch, you link it to your main goal. For example, if you want to win a sizable lotto prize this year, you need to be reminded of the rewards you'll get by investing every week. Your watch will act as a spur, a powerful reminder for this action. Because, as you already know from my earlier posts, action is the key to results.Every time you glance at it, note the shape, style, brand and quality. You'll be reminded of your goal in a powerful way. I bought my Omega long before I could afford it. But the visual stimulation was a strong confirmation of the goals I held at the time.
Many wealth gurus tell you to put living examples of your goals around so that they can be seen each day to visually reinforce your dreams.
For example, you can put pictures of your dream house on:
For a year or two I used to make my cash available to my wife. If she needed money, she could take whatever she needed from the wallet. Bad idea. Because she's not as frugal or tightfisted as me, I was always topping up the amounts frequently.So the money leaks out never to be seen again, or recorded - which is the second-worst thing. Because if you don't record your spending, you don't know where it goes, and you won't be able to claim back expenses. With credit card or Eftpos statements, it's all listed there for you.

My chair of choice for the last 3 years has been the Herman Miller Aeron. Nothing beats it for comfort and longevity. Here it is at my desk.
